Göteborg

Göteborg is a town with the pulse of a big city although it has a natural and relaxed charm. Within comfortable walking distance you will find everything from world-class restaurants and cosy cafés to fascinating cultural experiences and excellent shopping. The sea is just a tram ride away.

Göteborg is situated in the heart of Scandinavia, with the second largest international airport in Sweden. It is well connected to both national and international railway networks and has a major harbour. Göteborg is therefore easily reached by air, ferry or train. The venue

MSW 2008 will take place at Quality Hotel 11 and Eriksbergshallen. Once you are here, you’ll immediately sense the special atmosphere that is characteristic of the environment in this area – closeness to the water, pier promenades and the feeling of being right in the middle of a real port.

Reach the venue by car
From the E6 northbound or the E20 from Stockholm drive towards Oslo and follow the signs towards Hisingen/Hamnar and Norra Älvstranden. Exit at the Eriksbergsmotet and follow the signs to Eriksberg, Quality Hotel 11 and Eriksbergshallen.
From the E6 Southbound follow the sign Norra Älvstranden and exit at the Eriksbergsmotet. Follow the signs to Eriksberg, Quality Hotel 11 and Eriksbergshallen.
From road 158 follow the sign Hisingen and exit at Ivarsbergsmotet, direction Eriksberg.

Parking in the area
Please note that charges are levied for all car parking in the Eriksbergs area. Outside parking fee is 30 sek/24 hours. Parking house is available in the area.

Public transportations
A ferry departs from Lilla Bommen, Järntorget and Klippan, stopping just outside the Hotel at Eriksberg. Bus number 16 leaves from the city centre, the bus stop is called Eriksberg Krokäng. A one way-ticket costs 20 SEK.

Accomodation

A number of rooms has been reserved at Quality Hotel 11 and Novotel Göteborg for conference participants and contributors. These can be booked until April 1st. After this date, rooms cannot be guaranteed.

Accommodation reservations are taken together with your registration. The rates are in SEK and inclusive of breakfast and VAT. All rooms have a private bath or shower. Please note that all reservations require a credit card guarantee, to get the reservation confirmed!

Cancellation of your hotel reservation can be made before April 1st 2008 (at a charge of SEK 300). Please communicate any cancellations to the Registration Office in writing.
